An Evening in Reflection
For Haley and Ross’s wedding at Old Oaks Country Club in Purchase, New York, a predominantly white floral palette became an exploration of light, reflection and scale. Sculptural orchids, flowering branches and layers of candlelight carried the design from a luminous outdoor ceremony into a reception beneath thousands of twinkling lights.
The ceremony design was intentionally architectural without feeling heavy. Clear and reflective elements allowed the florals to appear almost suspended within the setting, creating impact while preserving the openness of the view.
Rather than relying on color to define each space, the celebration found its dimension through contrasting heights, reflective surfaces, and the movement of the florals themselves. The result felt polished and dramatic while remaining soft enough to complement the natural beauty of the country club.
The mirrored aisle created a striking path toward the ceremony, reflecting the sky, surrounding florals, and each moment of the processional. White arrangements lined the aisle with an airy, garden-like movement, while tall floral structures framed Haley and Ross against the open landscape.
The floral story continued into cocktail hour with an elevated arrangement of flowering branches displayed above the escort-card table. Its height created a natural gathering point for guests while introducing the more sculptural design language of the reception.
By keeping the tabletop details clean and the palette restrained, the installation could make a statement without overwhelming or interrupting the flow of the space.
Inside the tent, thousands of lights formed a glowing canopy above the reception. Tall white centerpieces drew the eye upward toward the ceiling, while lower arrangements, glass details and candlelight brought warmth and intimacy to each table.
Orchids introduced graceful movement throughout the centerpieces, while lush clusters of white blooms softened the mirrored and transparent surfaces below. The mixture of tall and low designs created rhythm across the room, allowing every table to feel connected without appearing identical.
As evening settled over Old Oaks, reflections from the tables, glassware and candlelight gave the entire reception a luminous quality. What began as a refined white floral palette became an immersive environment shaped as much by light as by flowers.
